Protecting QB, shoring up secondary among Temple's goals - While it was primarily a couple of mental mistakes by Temple that led to most of Pflugerville Connally's scoring in the Cougars' 27-24 season-opening win last Friday night, the Wildcats know there is plenty else to work on. Inexperienced Tem-Cats overcome loss of focus to beat Killeen in four - KILLEEN - These inexperienced Temple Tem-Cats might put coach Susie Hughlett on anti-depressants sooner than later. Thanks to its best passing performance of the season, Temple rebounded from a disappointing Game 3 loss to handle error-plagued Killeen 25-20, 25-14, 22-25, 25-20 on Tuesday night.
Tem-Cats go 1-1 to finish Belton tournament - BELTON - The injury-depleted Temple Tem-Cats struggled again on Saturday at the Belton Tournament but still managed to finish 1-1 on the day. The Tem-Cats defeated District 12-5A rival Killeen Ellison 25-22, 24-26, 25-22 in their first match and fell to Odessa Permian 11-25, 18-25 in their final match of the tournament.
Crucial mistakes hinder Temple's opening performance as Connally wins 27-24 - The first big mistake made the Temple Wildcats a little wobbly. The second put them up against the ropes. But just when it looked like they would still overcome both to pull out the victory, a third mistake delivered a knockout punch.
Temple Volleyball goes 1-3 at tournament - BELTON - The Temple Tem-Cats battled injuries to win one of four matches Friday at the Belton Invitational.
Belton girls edge Temple cross country in opener - The Belton girls cross country team edged Temple by three points to win the title at the Temple Early Bird Meet on Friday morning at Sammons Golf Links. Temple's boys were 16th out of 20 teams, while Belton finished ninth.
Let the games begin: Wildcats hungry to build momentum in opener vs. Connally - The Temple Wildcats and the Pflugerville Connally Cougars are two programs with a rich tradition of winning. The Wildcats once had more wins than any other school in the state, and they still rank in the top five.
